Sourdough Churek
As I continue
down the garden path with Maggie, here is another instance of paths crossing; a
sourdough churek.
Absent any help from Fleischmans's, this one takes a little longer. 2 hours or fermentation... ... a little shaping fun... Make sure you have lots of counter space at the ready. And now the waiting begins. 5 hours for the loaves to proof. They bake in 45-50 minutes and get nice and brown The crumb has the signature openness of sourdough. And the crust has a little more substance. Very tasty stuff.
